History of Argento

Argento is one of the UK's largest jewellery stores, with more than 50 outlets throughout the UK.

Argento is also the UK and Ireland's largest single retailer of the much sought-after Pandora jewellery range, as well as offering many other famous brands, and now has as a rapidly-growing online presence at argento.co.uk.

The name Argento means silver in Italian - in recognition of the first beautiful, high quality, handmade silver jewellery which founder Peter Boyle picked up in Asia, India, Mexico and further afield during his extensive overseas travels.

Peter started out offering his silver jewellery from a small market street stall in Ireland. However, after a few years his pieces proved so popular that in 1997 he opened his first bricks and mortar Argento store operating out of Castle Street, Belfast.

He wanted his clients to enjoy light, modern, inviting premises where they could view his collections in comfort, sheltered from the ubiquitous Belfast rain! The clients in turn asked Peter to expand his collection to include other beautiful fashion jewellery pieces made out of precious and semi-precious stones and metals other than silver.

Consequently, Peter went out to search the world again and discovered the reasonably-priced and beautifully hand-crafted Pandora range of contemporary jewellery which he brought back to sell first in his stores and later online.

He also came across Swarovski, Michael Kors, Olivia Burton, Thomas Sabo, Vivienne Westwood and many more whose stylish designs are now on sale in every Argento store.

Argento still deals directly with its suppliers (some of them for more than 15 years) and so can offer excellent value for money and hand-pick the individual pieces they choose to sell.

Peter's taste has proved popular, which is why less than two decades after opening his first store, there are now more than 50 Argento stores to be found throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland, all of which stock a wide range of both fashionable and unique jewellery from many of the most popular (and hottest!) leading designer brands.

Delivery Information

All orders worth £20 or more get free postage within the UK, even on top brands. Get your order in before 3pm any day from Monday to Friday and Argento will ship it out the same day.

Returns Policy

Argento has a generous 90-day returns policy for most of their items bought online (apart from items on sale or outlet items). For reasons of hygiene, however, earrings and body jewellery can only be accepted for returns if the security bag has not been tampered with, except in the case of faulty items.

Security & Reviews

Argento's online outlet at www.argento.co.uk uses Trustpilot customer review which refuses Argento access to comments so that they cannot change the reviews. Most clients praise Argento's excellent customer service, friendly and communicative staff, fast and efficient service, attractive packaging and excellent high quality products, and say that they would recommend this site to family and friends.
