History of Premier Inn

The British budget hotel chain Premier Inn is a well-known hotelier, with locations around the UK and all over the world. As Britain's largest hotel brand, with more than 50,000 rooms and 700 hotels in the UK, Premier Inn is famous for its budget accommodations and its incredible locations. The company has hotels in some of the most prominent city centres, suburbs and airports.

Starting life in 1987, Premier Inn began under the name Travel Inn. It was the main competitor for Travelodge, the other budget hotel brand in the UK. Whitbread later bought Premier Lodge in 2004 for £505 million, adding 141 hotels to their portfolio. All of their hotels then became Premier Travel Inns, which was later shortened to the Premier Inn brand that we know today.

In 2006, Premier Inn entered into a joint venture with Emirates Group and launched their brand of hotels in the Gulf, starting with Dubai. The company's ventures abroad didn't stop there, when their 50:50 agreement with Emaar-MGF (one of India's largest real estate developers) was announced in 2007 and saw a total equity investment of £300 million over the next ten years in Indian hotels, setting up over 80 Premier Inns in the region.

Despite the hotel's famous budget accommodations, the company invested in prime time television advertising, and established UK comedian Lenny Henry as the face of the campaign to highlight the cheap prices and high-quality rooms that Premier Inn offer. Booking Information

You can book a room with Premier Inn up to 12 months in advance. All online bookings are confirmed in an email after the booking has been made. You can also book with Premier Inn's online reservation number (see opening times above). You will receive a booking reference number when you make your booking; you should keep this number safe as you will need this should you need to contact Premierinn.com regarding your booking. When you book with Premier Inn your credit card details will be taken, but the money will not be taken until you check into the hotel.

Returns Policy

If you need to cancel or change your booking, and you have a Flex rate, you can do it before 1pm on the day you are due to arrive. You can also amend dinner and breakfast options in this time frame. If you cancel your accommodation after 1pm on your arrival day then you will be charged for one night's accommodation. If you have booked a Premier Saver room you most likely will not be entitled to a refund or able to make amendments to your booking, as this room has been booked at a discounted rate. You can cancel your booking through Premier Inn's telephone Contact Centre or online by logging into your account and viewing your booking. If your amendment or cancellation requires a refund, then you will receive a confirmation email confirming the refund has been made to your account.

The few complaints on the site commented on noise from other guests, which is something that Premier Inn cannot necessarily avoid.
